Here you go: http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,228824.0.html I really enjoyed this detector. Today I dug a lot of suspect signals just to see what they were. By "suspect" I mean I thought they might be junk. All of them were. Some signals sounded good but they were clipped off at the end. Some wouldn't repeat or would be a high tone and then a medium tone. I learned to slow down and investigate many of the signals. For example, I'd swing the coil and hear many tones. If I heard a high pitched tone or even part of one, I'd slow way down and investigate and try to get it to repeat. After I learn more about what this detector is telling me, I think I'll do much better. Today was a learning day more than anything. Let me say that I have absolutely no buyers remorse what-so-ever. This detector is awesome. I'm very glad I bought it. Hope you'll be happy with yours too.

nice post I'm glad ya had fun

Yahoo!! ;D ;D ;D Finally received my E-Trac 2 days late but well worth the wait. Having a hard time understanding it but I guess time will tell. I haven't tried it yet still learning the modes and features. This sunday will be the day of reconning when I take it for a spin or should I say swing Tee!! Hee!!. I also haven't received my book yet ( ordered 23rd March ) and after calling three times and being hung up on I finally got a response by e-mail from the author himself that it was on it's way. Seems they misslaid my order. O'Well but still very happy. Charlie

Let us know how everything goes, Charlie. Yesterday I received the Sunray X-1 probe and attached it to my detector. I tested it and it works fine. It's supposed to rain today so I don't know if I'll get out there to hunt. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny. :icon_sunny: Yeah, keep us posted, Charlie. Glad you finally got it.

Mine will be here Wednesday just in time for the cold and wet lol
Just my luck lol oh well.
This will give me time to read Andy's book and see what I can do.
How have you done with yours?
Any goodies yet silver wise?

Foul weather prevented me from hunting today but tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 58-degrees. I'm going to be hunting with different settings and I edited the default discrimination pattern to except the highest numbers on the conductivity scale. For some reason they are discriminated out and the detector would null on an Eisenhower dollar. Now it gives a nice strong signal. I read somewhere that the default discrimination pattern on the detector was made for Australian coins. There must be some truth to that because I can't think of a good reason to black out the highest conductivity numbers. I want those Ike dollars. Yeah, I highly recommend you soak up as much of Andy's book as you can because when your detector arrives you are not going to want to do any reading! lol

Hey everyone. good post! Just started detecting again since the weather is warming a little, and getting to know the e-trac again. Feels good to get out, sunshinin, swingin a coil over the soil, searchin for buried treasure! AAAhhhh.....Hope it's nice out tomorrow....

I went to a small park in a nearby town. I found a total of 18 coins. No silver. The most interesting find was a quarter sized token that says, "The Big Texan - Free 72 oz. Steak." The reverse says, "Home of the FREE 72 oz. Steak - Amarillo Texas" I did a quick net search and found the place: http://www.bigtexan.com/ So, I guess I got me a big steak coming my way! That token made up for me not finding any silver. Now if I can just find a token for a free beer....

Hi! GibsonDan, well the steak won't be free if you have to drive to Texas, Tee!! Hee!! Congrats on your finds, I was out today for the first time with my E-Track but all I got was holes full of water. Everytime I would get a hit I would start digging and no sooner do I open a hole up it filled with water, it was a bummer but an enjoyable day all round. Charlie

Yeeeeeeehaaaaaaaa I got my Etrac last night when out this am and got
7 quarters
6 nickles
8 dimes
29 pennies
2 wheat pennies
and drum rollllllll
1945 merc with full split bands.

All Right! Congrats on the silver and the coins!!

thank you
How do you like your etrac?

any luck with the silver yet?

what does "full split bands" mean on a '45 merc?

flip the merc over and you will see the staff with bands that run across it
when you get one with full spilt bands ( meaning that you can see them
super sharp ) it makes the coin worth more :)
makes the coin a higher grade.

I love this E-trac. Took it out today and hunted an old park that has been heavily hunted over the years. I've finally got the pinpointing down. My holes were much smaller today. I found a silver thimble and a 1905s Barber Dime. (Yeeaaahhhooooo!!!) You can see pics in "Todays Finds" or just click here: http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,232026.0.html
