Hello,
First post to the site!
I must say that I am hooked now. I bought a cheap detector off of Ebay a couple years ago for about $169. It sat around and I finally decided to use it. I went to a place where an old swimming hole had been dried up due to drought.
My first day I spent about 4 hours... Found a ton of old 70s style pull tabs and about 40 fishing sinkers, a few coins.
The second day I went and within about 45 mins I found a 14K gold ring with a 3 carat white saphire in it. I ended up getting $125 for the ring.
I'm hooked... I'm sure I will be a regular here now.
I already figured out a way to GPS my paths with my phone using an app I downloaded called GPS Essentials and then I can import my paths to Google Earth and that way I can mark out areas I cover.
