Can anyone help identify this button?

The front pictured looks like one of probably thousands of varieties of copper-based, gilded metal buttons from the 1700s and 1800s. If there were any lettering on the back it might be possible to narrow it down a bit. There was a huge import of these types of buttons from England early on and gradually American manufacturing began.

Almy is correct, could be 1770 to 1820's or so. If it has a backmark it was made after 1800.

Looks like Gold Gilt Button - congrats !

I find no markings on the back
