New hot spot at Paco's colonial farm !!!!! Incredible day !
Hello all,
vp & paco here - today we headed out to the old colonial farm where so many incredible coins have been found in the past, paco started out in the Colonial field and i went exploring in the 500 yard winter wheat field, i was finding absolutely nothing and then changed my direction and headed closer to the stream that runs thru the property. I stumbled upon a spot that looked really promising along the creek and within 2 minutes found the first coin of the day, an 1857 half dime !!!!
i ran to the closest hilltop and started yelling for Paco who was easily a half mile away - now i could see him fine BUT with his headphones on there was no chance of him hearing me so i started over to get him, thinking that i stumbled on a good location
boy was i right - i started walking back towards him, and maybe 30 feet into it i got another reading that i had to dig - it turned out to be the 1809 classic head half cent pictured below - by now i'm thinking wow - we got us another hot spot here - so i started running back to paco to get him - when i got there (dead tired i might add) i showed paco the coins and we high fived and screamed - immediately we headed back - once we got back maybe 30 seconds after we started to detect, Paco found the most beautiful seated quarter i think i've ever seen (about 10 feet from my half dime)
now, i use to own a coin shop and tell you i have NEVER held a nicer seated quarter - the field in nearly flawless and the mint luster still shows - whew !!!!! definately the kind of coins we all dream about !
a little bit later i found my third coin of the day (my 8th large copper of the year), we think it's 1828 Coronet Cent !
now we still haven't found the homestead that we think is at this location, no iron fields, no pottery - nothing yet - so i think once we find it, there will only be more good coins to come

, that is one very nice Seated Quarter. Looks like it was just purchased at a coin shop!!! A real Beauty!! Glad you're getting out there and swingin' your machine.
