Hey guys, I am a new hunter. Been hunting now for 4 days. Been a silver bug since Oct 6th. I got hooked on Coin Roll Hunting on my first $100.
12-5-11 - 10 rolls - sixteen 40% Halves
12-6-11 - 11 rolls - nothing
Then came yesterday, a day of multiple stops as I run around from bank to bank to find halves.
Stop 1 - 4 rolls, yellow, nothing
Stop 2 - 40 Brinks rolls, nothing, 3 Yellow rolls, one 40%, 9 rolls loose in bag, one 40%
Stop 3 - 3 rolls, yellow - nothing
The next stop I almost didnt hit. I had called one branch of this bank and they said a guy had ordered a whole box from them and that they had none. I called the other branch and they said they had $320 rolls all customer wrapped. I ended up going there because I was right next to it anyways.. I am glad I did, it made my trip worth it.
Stop 4 - 17 rolls - customer wrapped - Eight 40%, 7 of them in one roll... new record for me.
Stop 4 - 16 rolls - Customer wrapped - Fifteen 40%!, 14 of them all in one roll!... New record again!
Too bad they had run out of rolls
Stop 5 I rushed to. I made it the 30 miles with 5 minutes left to close. I Grabbed 19 rolls leaving $70 behind since I didnt have the cash on me, got home, unwrapped them and...... nothing.
Total, 111 rolls and I got twenty five 40% halves, about one every 4.5 rolls. Not complaining at all.
Today I ordered a box from a local bank and should have it Tuesday. From the tellers till at the same bank found a 1956 dime which I gladly purchased for a dime.
Went to the local bank inside the Corporate Devil AKA Walmart and checked their tills, found a 1948 Quarter I gladly picked up for 25 cents.
Tomorrow another bank should have a box in so I will be trying to get all of that as well.
This is month 3 of the hunt for me and its getting better and better
I was averaging $34.18 per ounce in October
I was averaging $26.50 per ounce in November
So for in December I am averaging $4.60 an ounce
I found a 1oz round at an auction for $10 and picked up a dime and quarter for $4 combined earlier this month throwing off the average
Anyways, that is my story and I am having a grand time.
