New machine

What do you expect to get out of it that you don't get with the CTX?

I will be testing it out at two of my colonial sites. I want to see how the X-Terra does in heavy iron. It will be a backup machine should the CTX go down and a single frq machine has it's purpose, especially one that you can hunt in all metal.
Thanks for asking, Mike.

Congratulations on the new acquisition!

Have you downloaded Randy's e-book yet? He's also written several blog articles that are on the Minelab site. The one he did on coil selection is especially useful to new Xterra users.

It will be interesting to hear your observations after using it a while, since FBS2 is a V-Flex/FBS hybrid.

Thanks:occasion14: I'm def looking forward to using it. I have not looked into Randy's book as yet, thanks for that tip. I will def follow up on how she works out for me.

Randy's book is FREE! And there's no other reference material for Xterras that can compare. You can download it from the Minelab site. You have to sign up (if you haven't already), then you'll find it in the "MEMBERS" area.

nice loaner...had one...dont miss it much(a little)

"Interesting" machine. Very basic, tones are ok, don't care for the layout of diff functions. Seems more complicated than it needs to be. Have to get used to the concentric coil again, been a while. Does sound off pretty hard on isolated targets, however multiple targets together is nerve racking. Again, it's prob because of the concentric coil. I do however like the diff in sound in relation to depth. Deeper targets have a nice subtle tone. I need more time on this machine. We will see.

So it arrived early. Good deal !!
