Thank you!!!

Where in New Mexico did you find the coins Tex? I go to New Mexico often, specifically up to Ruidoso.

Hi there d3, I usually go to Orogrande nm

I heard about a guy finding a bunch of V nickles up that way. Sounds great. Do you also use a AT Pro?

Good morning Casca, no I just started using the AT Gold... Not much luck so far still learning the MD. I found a lot with my Teknetics Delta4000 and my T2 ES LTD and I have to say that T2 by far was a lot better if not for the speaker at the elbow. I sent it back got a defective one, but found at least 8 V nickels with it. So who else has found V nickels in that area?

I think I cleaned it out, came out dry last week with the AT Gold. The only thing I found and keep finding are old broken horse shows lol! My buddy and I would find one or two each time we go dirt fishing up there and even his friend found one two min into the hunt but since my last trip, nothing. My buddy went yesterday and also came up empty. Almost forgot, found some Indian heads too... Might head out tomorrow and try it again. Like I said still learning my AT Gold. I'd like to try a different place with some history like an old wagon trail, ghost town or camp sites.

Yeah I passed through Orogrande about a year ago. Do you hunt in town, or on land you own or what?

Hey D3, no closer to Brice the old ghost mining town. There's still some ruins and a lot of tin cans in the area. You just have to look for old camp fire pits that's the key...

Thanks. I'll do that!

Nix the reply comment, pretty cool, all those liberty nickels. Happy hunting!

Southern New Mexico and around

Here is some of the stuff I am finding.

Those are swine finds my friend. I especially dig the rifle! I would love to find an old wagon trail or battle ground. What's the history behind these finds?

The rifle was in the roof of an old adobe that fell down on the Rio Casas Grandes about 20+ miles south of Palomas Chihuahua. The spur came off the High Lonesome Ranch near Lewis Flats between Las Cruces and Deming New Mexico. The copper splash is from the Spanish Colonial smelter near Janos Chihuahua. The ring bits were also found on a ranch in Chihuahua
