New Minelab Monster Coming?

Was just checking my emails and noticed one from Minelab. Clicked to open and there was this pic inside. I clicked the pic and it led to a video short.

The Monster is Coming

Minelab has the Gold Monster 1000, which is a 45 kHz VLF, so not sure if this new Monster is gonna be VLF or PI. Would love to see it be a waterproof PI for us beach & shallow water hunters. Yeah, I know, wishful thinking.

Anyone know anything about this new Monster?

Well, looks like my wishful thinking was short lived, as I found a promotional video for Minelab’s new Gold Monster 2000, another nugget buster.

Apparently, this one will use a combination of VLF SMF & PI technology.

So they are going to release some sort of gold plated robot or alien that retrieves targets from the ground? I’m confused.

I guess videos of people soldering chip boards in some Chinese sweatshop wouldn’t be as exciting.

Love how this hero is shown throwing the detector in the back of the truck bed (like a shovel), hauling ass down a rough dirt road, throwing it on the ground after finding a target, pouring water on it, then dropping it down a couple more times for good measure.

What kind of idiots do they think we are? Reminds me of the old Ford Truck commercials where they bend the frame dropping a ton of gravel in the bed from 15’ then haul ass across a cobble field.

If it is a VLF/PI machine, I’m sure it will come with a hefty price tag. I wonder if it will stop a bullet?

Yes, and it should be just a week or two away 😁
SMF, multi frequency with Pulse Induction ground handling. All things I have seen from the best known high profile prospector here is ultra positive. If he's making anything up his reputation would be in ruin, I don't believe thats going to be the case. Is water resistant but not submersible.
Will cost me $1 shy of 3 grand Aussie.

Hey you guys are lucky. The original quoted US price hasn't changed.
Yet us here who helped make them what they are today have had the price bumped up from $2499 to $2999, 500 bucks. They have always treated us here worse than anywhere else. When the first SD 2000 was released it was sold for $2500. After a couple of months seeing how happy people were with it they bumped it up to $4900. Love their machines, loathe the company and I have in the distant past been involved with them. I told them way back then to shove it and get lost I want nothing more to do with you. They're pigs, and that's from personal involvement.

Hey imagine if you did that and something broke then you sent it in under warranty. They contact you and ask how it broke. "Oh, I got a target and threw it on the ground like your video showed me to do!" They then say "you what, you threw it on the ground? Well how did all this water get inside the control box and fry it?"
You reply "oh that, well after id thrown it on the ground I noticed some dust on it so I tipped some water from my canteen over it to wash it off like in your video, I guess the water got in the crack in the housing from when I threw it on the ground! So you gonna fix it or what!?" 🤣

Gotta admit, the guy has a super serious look on his face, but when I saw him place the coil on the ground then just let the detector drop on down, my butt checks tightened. Maybe they're trying to give the impression of durability, but I think most guys would interpret that as stupidity, lol.

I guess with the canteen/water, maybe they're trying to show that the detector is water "resistant" a bit, but obviously not waterproof. Funny how these little things can totally make sense to a marketing department, but to the clients they'll be selling to, makes no sense at all, just comes off as a bit idiotic.

Being able to withstand some rough handling is a plus in my book. Would you rather see a commercial with them gently setting it down on a pillow? That would make you wonder about durability. To me, there is no reason not to make EVERY detector waterproof these days.....at least to 10' or so.

If I believed marketing, I would call and tell them the gold plated robot was missing from the box. To each his own, but NO detector fairs well when thrown around. We all know this and take no comfort that actors abused the detector in the commercial. If that instilled confidence on your part, then I guess marketing does work some of the time.

If I believed marketing, I would call and tell them the gold plated robot was missing from the box. To each his own, but NO detector fairs well when thrown around. We all know this and take no comfort that actors abused the detector in the commercial. If that instilled confidence on your part, then I guess marketing does work some of the time.

Yeah, but, some detectors hold up better to abuse than others. Good to know if they may be subject to rough handling.
