Went out with a buddy of mine searching for a 1700’s cellar hole and barn. The walk was on a well worn cart path that’s been there for years, very rocky and hilly which made walking “unpleasant” . The bugs were waiting for us, they formed into squadrons and attacked in waves all day, I swear to god I had the same noseeum buzzing between my eyes all day. I hate those things and can’t wait for the first frost to kill those little monsters...... anyway, we detected are way in, not finding much, the occasional wheat, 3 Merry Widows tin, musket ball, flat button and a horse rosette. We decided to leave and I was detecting the trail out when I got my best signal of the day on my Nox , a nice 30-31 at 6” and out popped a beautiful barber quarter (1898) with the rare O mint mark, checked the hole and out rolled a 1904 (Philly) barber dime. Both coins are in pretty good shape, so I’m happy-happy.
Thanks for watching

Thank you sir, it cost me my shovel, I snapped the blade, I will never buy another NX5 or 6, that’s two in a year and a half

Very sweet silver! Congrats!

A couple sweet coins! Displayed, I see, on the new BDU's. Nice.

Gorgeous coins!

Excellent!
Well , the recoveries anyways...

Great silver hunt, congrats! :occasion14:

Your Barber quarter is in terrific shape. I feel your pain about the bug situation. I've started wearing a mosquito net over my head when it gets real bad. Needless to say, hikers and dog walkers take one look at me and head in the other direction. Let's hear it for " social distancing"!

One of my realistic bucket list or is a barber quarter I got the dime I got the Half -O- but I cannot find a barber quarter ugggh
You said you were on a hilly slope where is that in New Orleans LOL

Congratulations on my dream hunt [emoji1360]

Hey Joe I’m the king of breaking shovels so the shovel makers say. A broken every shovel I had even the parana but they sent me a Big Red plus $20 and never call for them again. I don’t think I’ll ever brake it it might be me.

It’s those oak routes that break these things lol

I emailed the guys at anaconda trading and they wanted some pictures, haven’t heard from them back yet. I was really nice to the new one, the first crack happened in a yard with no roots or rocks, I think the blades are too long and put too much stress on it. I just ordered a new Lesche, but I hope Annaconda send a replacement, I like their shovels
