New Site, was slim, Strange early button

Mainly only posting because of the button. We had success today in that we found a small early site, but it went quiet very fast.

What I see is a very crude bird, maybe a chicken, with one massive claw.

That's a pretty interesting one, if anyone can get to the bottom of it I'm sure you can. Does look like a crude chicken, although the head and tail look almost identical. Pretty cool regardless!

Hi, Iron Patch. This is off-topic but I keep forgetting to ask: In which state in USA or province in Canada is Dirtyville? Or is it instead a state of mind, lol? Mostly want to know which state or province produces your interesting finds, don't need to know the city if that's to be kept quiet.

Interesting button indeed. The design throws me, but the button style sure resembles the "lottery buttons" from the Revolutionary War. They were French made buttons and as I understand it the faces were blank...but the style sure looks like them with the turret style shank.

Seen many similar images on Lead Tokens never a button, interesting shank as well. A nice addition I think, but I guess you know as much about it now as you ever will
