Hi All!
Haven't been able to get much hunting in lately.
Decided to search the area of an operating Boatyard/Marina, on the assumpion that the area had been used for a long time.
I have found hundreds of old cast lead fishing jigs of various styles at Cob Cove, but only one of this 'Tombac'?? material. got 4 at this site, they are of nice workmanship, compared with the lead castings.
The metal resembles tombac buttons I retreive from salt mud, and is much harder than lead.
Pulled a few pewter buttons, a pewter spoonhandle (first one with a rib all the way up to the top, matches a 1710 style on Pewterbank) & some brass flats, couple musketballs.
So the age is here
also what appears to be a very eroded Dandy button.
A 'Curtice Bros' Ketchup bottle cover, around 1890, became part of birdseye foods.
this link shows a close match to the cap:

I see a stone structure extending into the water on satellite views a little ways up the coastline,
that could be the hotspot.
Also got a bottle of red oil, no smell to it, looks like a toothache medicine.
As always, Best digs to you all!
I'm out today for some foundation hunting
