I am wondering how others look for new sites. For me it's all about the footwork scouting ridges off of creeks. I also look at topo maps searching for certain geological features that most of my sites have in common. For instance I have found that when ridges point at the creek rather than running parallel to the creek

Please share some of your methods!

Everything you mentioned is good.
One way I've found that seems to speed up the pace..is going off of known sites on old waterways and using a map to determine what ones would connect those sites then scanning those shorelines for sign...once I've located flakes or pottery.. sometimes more then I "figure out" that area.

I just had a farmer call me and with the price of corn they have cleared all the land to the creeks edge. He said a lot of flint was showing and he found 2 points and come on down. I am there! Later.

Lol. Later tater. I wonder if my husband will notice I'm gone? A post like that REALLY makes me want to hunt. And it rained yesterday...we plowed last week and I've only had time to spend an hour looking for obvious pieces. Hmmmm....

Aaahhrrr! I hate you! LOL. Good luck!

So I guess some have lookouts that call. I look for humps where 2 hills meet together near water. Not big hills and yes points.
