Hello !!

I have been lurking here for about a year reading and learning from you fine folks. I purchased a White's Surf Pro detector a couple of years ago, occasionally taking it to the local beaches finding the usual pull tabs, etc. I have just returned from vacation in Puerto Vallarta and finally found something pretty neat. I found alot of coins..I have not figured out how to make that picture smaller yet, but here is a shot of the ring I found. The hotel employees have told me it is a police officers ring. How do I find out if it is gold...a local jewler? Not sure what to do next...any suggestions...the excitement finding that in the scoop was INCREDIBLE !! thanks for looking !! Shelley...Minnesota

I took it to a local jeweler here, did the acid test, is not plated, but he was unsure, and said "maybe 10k"...I will check with another jeweler tomorrow....thanks !!
