Newbie here with XP Deus but love the results thus far!

Hello XP Deus users-

I bought the XP Deus in January of this year but did not use it till 3 months ago; I primarily use the Equinox 800 which I have done well with this machine-having recovered my first gold coin 1852 Liberty Head and Confederate Georgia frame plate.The last several months however, I have been noticing Deus users finding more quality items on a more consistent basis than I was with my Nox 800.

The past 3 hunts I recovered my second breast plate, and numerous bullets and buttons that have missed in a heavily hunted area. One observation is that the Deus is a killer on buttons. I recovered 10 buttons, 7 flat buttons, a button back and a General Service Eagle coat and a NY Staff coat this past Sunday. I found more buttons (10) on one hunt last Sunday than I did all last year with my Nox 800. Would I have recovered the same items had I been using my Nox 800? maybe-maybe not. I use the small round high frequency coil, and this thing is spot on in sniffing out buttons. I dig everything above 40 and have been very happy with only my 5th outing with this machine.

I still haven’t learned every single nuance yet but do love the light weight swinging compared to my 10 pound Nox 800 which seems like 10 pounds compared to the Deus. My question, I live in Alexandria VA and primarily hunt in Virginia for civil war relics, is there a civil war relic hunting program that someone can recommend? I am using Deus Fast.

That statement worries me, I dig everything above 10 but many below 10 as well. Its about the sound not the number. When you dig everything (pretty much) your results will improve 2 fold. That icludes clearing iron.

PS. I'm a trash digger not a treasure hunter.

Great advice about the Deus from an experienced hunter.

Man I sure wish we had CW relics like yours to find here in Canada.

One other thing. On some high tones, if instead of swinging the coil back and forth if you slide it forward and backward, you can get a better idea if it's a huge piece of iron or not. But still dig it.

Thank you Smokey for the tips, next time we’re out digging I will dig all those signals where the VDI does not display. I left quite a few targets in the farm that did not display VDI. I do like the XP Deus !
