Nice colonial finds today & my oldest large cent 1798

I have to say that I really had one of my best days and weather was just beautiful, for a change, outside Philadelphia. I would also like to point out to some of the beginner detectorists here, DIG ALL targets! Mostly all these items were faint signals from 8-12" deep. Some buttons sound just like the dreaded old shotgun shell. I found loads of them today, but dug everything. Also couple coppers were faint signals at first in 60 range, but after a good scoop with the shovel blasted up to 79-81 on AT max.
I included a picture of this area. I now believe this pile of rocks may just have been and old house or dwelling. At first i thought it was just cleared rocks piled there,, but who knows. ALL these relics were found within 50 feet of it. Good thing is I still have acres untouched.

Great finds! At those old sites you gotta dig everything. You might be sore at the end of the day but it's usually worth it

I believe that I see a little watch winder. I really like those for some unknown reason.

Digging all targets is key in older areas. You just never know what you will find.

Great group of finds! Looking at your photo; I'd clean out a small area thoroughly so you have a definite spot to put logs and brush. Then you can sweep it well. Good luck and congrats on finding a good spot to hunt.

finding any 1700's US coin is amazing, imo. Congratulations and, yes, keep digging the deepies! Learn how to run that Garrett hot by ground balancing and then lowering the ground balance # manually for more depth. Toy with it and you'll find it does gain depth.
I'm a bit jelly on all that old dirt you have to search.
