It was the end of the day but I really wanted to check out a new spot in one of our county parks. It was an old 1800's farm with buildings still standing. I was just going to scope it out for another time but with a little daylight I turned on the 800 and swung. First find behind the main house was this brooch. It looked like trash until I got home. My wife thought it was a golf ball pin but when I cleaned it up all the detail came out. It's got a substantial profile too. Copper base metai, gilded I think. Has anyone seen one like it?

I have a funny feeling it is military uniform decor. Try looking up the type of flower in the middle, if it is an insignia for a particular country

Interesting. Thanks for your input.

Very nice keeper-congrats
I'd say mid Victorian style pin, with the paste stones in the centre. The pin on the back has let go, which happens as the solder doesn't hold up in the environment it seems.

Very Nice!
Is it solid metal, heavy, eh...?
Wonderful example of the elegance of the time....
A real Lady wore that...!
I'd say, late 1800's

It is heavy. Can't say for sure if solid. Some flaking happening. Thanks for looking.
