an out of work laborer who typically works in Hudson and Essex county let me pick thru the stuff he's brought home over the years today. I grabbed the the stuff I know and like, even though none of it was Paterson NJ stuff, paid him a fair price and we both went our seperate ways happy.

The stoneware Hough's is a beer bottle from the early 1850's, and the Decker's Birch Beer is a very desirable bottle that was sold out of Newark NJ but most likely bottled in Jersey City or NYC. The Hough's is 6-5/8" tall and the Decker's is 6". The glass is a group shot from Jersey City and the others are NYC. Better pics when the sun is up....

That's a beautiful display of bottles. I love the old drones are glazes. They are my favorite. I have been into pottery most of my life. There is something about those old glazes. I have plans to research the old glaze recipes and recreate them. In blown away by those hitches too. Incredible score!!!!

I can't imagine how many nice ones you passed on. I couldn't have resisted, but then again I am a packrat according to my better half. Nice stone ware beers though, I will drink to that....

Wow, great finds. I like that H .knight? Bottle! Looks like an oldie!
