Anyone have a nice knife form they would like to show?

This piece was laying on a table at a local farm retirement auction 3 miles from me a few years ago. It’s just over 4.5 inches long.
The home place was in a very desirable location right above a creek. I asked the owner about it, he said he found it nearby. Only artifact he had ever picked up. I suspect the place holds much more. It’s along the same creek most of the sites I hunt are on.
i couldn’t stay long enough for it to sell so I left a little cash with a friend and got it.

Some of our Central Great Plains Harahey knives.
Two of these were found in two pieces.

That's a beauty, Quito. What would that type as in

it has been typed as a Kessel by one authenticator and an Osceola by another. I bought it as a kessel and it came out of Illinois.

here is another kessel I have my eye on.

Sort of an oddball. You can guess which edge I uncovered first. Really had me going for a second. About 3 in. long.

A Coosa County Alabama find. Not the nicest but it was a quartzite smoker at one time. Evidently has resharpenings and the base is damaged too--could have broken in the haft. :dontknow: I think the material was heat-treated. Length is approximately 2 1/4" - 2 3/8". Thx for looking.

Has that been used on one side? Pretty stuff

Not sure about whether one or both sides being used. It's worked on both faces, with some of the original flake scar showing a bit more patina remaining down the middle of the other side.

Pretty material!

Personal finds from my property in Elmore Co. Alabama. About the bottom right--I found the tip and a few weeks later a friend found the base. It's a victim of the plow. Quartz pieces from the Ledbetter cluster...

Found this one in a field that used to produce a lot of good stuff, but rarely anymore. Sure wish they'd run a bottom plow through there again! 3 in. or so in length.

I like this Howard county type with the chisel tip out of Missouri I acquired years ago.
