I hit 12 banks south of where my in-laws live. Three of the first four all gave out some silver (1-90%, 12-40%) and the last eight gave up only one more (1-40%) but I also acquired some ikes as well. One of the Ikes was a 1977S (my first Ike proof). No real excitement along the way. One bank asked for my account (didn't have one) and wouldn't give me coins without it. I decided not to open an account (just too much to keep track of). Another bank brought out a little vault bag filled with miscellaneous change and gave me all of their halves and ikes out of it (it took forever and I was able to tell there was no silver just watching her count out all 78 halves), but then I saw an Ike that looked just a bit shinier. So, worth the wait. A few others had a large number of halves $600 and $590, but I decided against getting them all and just bought $100 each (skunks). Maybe I missed out, but I was having too much fun to just take home a couple big dumps.
I really like these road trips. It sure beats going through skunky half boxes. I got almost as much silver today in 4 hours than I did over 4 months of working with skunky boxes. I'm headed to the beach tomorrow with the family and hope to hit some banks along the way. Maybe it will be a dream vacation like twitch. Keep on Rollin
