is the tube leading off the head hollow? Could it be the end to a pipe or something? What is it made of?

it's made out of copper I believe, and yes the head is hollow. It looks like it used to be on a chain but the loop broke, I think it has something to do with a pipe

Metal miniature smoking pipe with face of Indian, I purchased this item 45 years ago at a mininature show, it is sure an interesting piece i have never seen another, it is only 1.5" long and 1" high, ,.nice metal the detail on his face i unreal and you can even see the feathers in his head dress, from 1920-1940, no breaks.

I found an old opium pipe from 1903 didn't know what it was for a long time. Great find!
