is the tube leading off the head hollow? Could it be the end to a pipe or something? What is it made of?

it's made out of copper I believe, and yes the head is hollow. It looks like it used to be on a chain but the loop broke, I think it has something to do with a pipe

I found an old opium pipe from 1903 didn't know what it was for a long time. Great find!
