I found an old class ring today, it's a 1938, it was down in the dirt about 3 inches with about 6 inches of snow on top. I was using my Super 12 coil on my Whites MXT and it VDI'd at a solid 22. When I bought the coil I was never thinking I'd be using it to hunt in the snow but it seems to work great for the depth.

Nice finds, I love my whites super 12 coil. Glad to see its producing for others.

Wow, great finds! Sweet ring. I wondered how diggable it would be here today. So it was thawed well enough to dig OK?

The ground wasn't very hard at all but there's a thin layer of ice on top of the leaves(crust). Most of the trees in the area I was hunting were big pines. The land was donated as a wildlife preserve back in 1920 or so and people wander all through the whole 50 acre's right here in the city.
