found at old farm. it's got a log cabin, a dog lower left and what looks like feet lower middle. Thats about all I can make out. It's lead filled brass.

Agree. Newspaper print plate. Maybe for an advert? I see an animal in it but would not have guessed 'dog'. Also, I think that is a hand in the center, not a foot. The hand is grasping an object...

Yes. A printing press plate. I was in the printing business for nearly 30 years and have seen many examples. The oldest that I have seen are the wood print blocks. This may even pre-date that. Great find!
