I went out MDing at the old WW2 air base today and found the usual handfull of wheaties and bang. On my garrett 550 screen it read pop top so dug it anyway. In the bottom of the hole was a ring. I know its sterling but in the middle of the ring looks like gold. Its worn real bad but its a class ring 19.... and has ESF on the front. Now why did it read pop top if the band is silver could the center be gold?...aa i know i know a photo would help ::)

Nice find

Maybe it is silvered gold. Don't know why that was done but i see it sometimes in my finds.

A valuable lesson to always dig the pull top signals. thanks for hammering it home to me yet again

Happy Hunting
