Found stone on beach. Pecked groove with agate. Maple handle, cut a "strap" on end, steam bent over stone, hafted with artificial sinew. Suede grip. Made just to see if I could (pecking was easier than I thought). Fun little project!

Would have been used in battle as hammer/striker.

No matter which way you say it, it equals pain. lol ............ouch!

Those were brutal times!

The warclub is a very interesting topic. We know it was very important to a warrior and it was the preferred weapon to strike the enemy with. It was even still carried after they got steel hatchets and knives. Still, we don't know when their use started or how they evolved. Seems like the only recognized ones are the perfect polished football shaped ones. The way they chose hardstone rocks from streams for warclub use, makes them hard to identify. I suppose they we're usually buried with the warrior when he died. I have wondered if some grooved hammerstones that I've seen pictures of, weren't really warclubs. Anyways, I like your club. I have a bunch. ;D
