There are no visible characteristics of meteorites is the provided images of this item. Since the thread title indicates it is not magnetic, I would suggest a non-iron slag or a nodule of non-iron ore. A multi-element assay would be helpful to determine the true nature of this item.

Time for the third espresso.

Magnetic stone / what you think?.

Any ideas?

Hello, Any help would be welcome

How big is it. Not a Metorite, but if small enough then it would make a killer piece of jewlery and if large enough a killer display.

You should check out the rock forum on here and ask what sort of stone this is.

Great find, very cool. If you clean it up further then post some more pics please.

Thanks all!
140g , Black outside & Light golden inside , it's heavier than other rocks.

Neither of these is a meteorite.

If you are serious about learning, pick up a few guidebooks on meteorites.

Time for more coffee.

The hardness of this stone is very high, it scratch the glass easily.

Hi, I've had trouble with this rock which I found around the middle of the baja california peninsula about 37 years ago. It has what appears to be a fusion crust and when I took a look with a high magnified eyepiece, there's what looks like thin flow lines in some parts of the black glassy like crust. Im familiar with minerals and rocks but there is something about this rock. Any help is appriated fully thanks.BajaCA-1030.JPGLolo

It appears to be slag to me or pillow lava... Hence the glass surface. It's collected rocks inside while flowing. My opinion...
