Northeastern Pa's Coal Strippings

I intended to detect an old coal mine shaft entrance today. It lies at the top of the mountain ridge that runs above my house, about 3 miles away by car. I drove to the top and set out. Somehow, I missed the old wagon/mule trail that branched off the trail to the entrance and by the time I realized, I decided it was just easier to continue hiking DOWN the trail than turn around and hike UP the trail, and so I found myself here....

....I always liked this view whenever I go on one of my hikes above my house. I hope you enjoy it too.

That's gorgeous country in the Fall, but come Winter it's not so pretty any more..lol

Nice shot, I like the haze/fog settling in on the hills in that light.

Thank you but I have to disagree just a little bit.....

This was taken in the same general area, just across the ridge after a large snowfall a couple years ago.

Or here is another argument for my disagreement....

Cold is only how you dress! Dress appropriately, it can be a wonderful time outdoors!

You're right NRA. I will have to post some pics of a waterfall I took New Year's Day a few years ago. Temp was -1 F, but the scenery made the hike worth it.
