I arrived at the new spot very early today and tried to get started before the heat got to me. I know there are still more things hidden there; these were today's finds.

Getting one intact was a great day of digging, so many were broken.
The intact ones were dug in the Chinese construction sites along the railroad.

Some would snap in half years later for no reason, just sitting on the bottle shelf.
We could hear them snap at the other end of the house.
That's so sad—I found two, but only one was intact.

are you guys aware of the pony express route along 50? I have found some nice stuff just eyeballing that path. I my early days there was still a structure, a windmill, a well and a cistern right across from Stagecoach. The Monroe/Gable film "the Misfits" was filmed there. If you hike up that hill you come on Fort Churchill on the other side.

I explored part of the Pony Express route near Moundhouse, but I only found two interesting things: a Civil War breastplate and a piece of gold jewelry. It's kind of hard to find, so I haven't explored it much.

I just bought a Magnetar 9000
Wow, you just jumped in with both feet! Be prepared to dig lots of iron with that PI machine. It was mainly designed for nugget hunting, but, in some areas it will work as a relic/coin machine if you're willing to learn it and do a lot of digging.

I still have my White's DFX and have had some Compasses in the past and yes, I am willing to learn about it, I'm retired and one of these days I'll be able to go nugget shooting with it. And you obviously have an A body 'Cuda, what year and is it a convertible?

1966 X 3 and a convertible also.

Okay, but I think it's for searching for gold nuggets, not for relics.
True, but like I originally asked is I have some questions for you if it was permissible? Because I still have my DFX but want to know more about the legalities here in Nevada.

Well, to be honest, I don't know how legal this metal detecting thing is—I'm not really sure. But I've been doing this for 13 years, and so far I haven't had any problems. I've been detecting on the outskirts of Virginia City for over a year now, and I've run into the local sheriff, but nothing has happened.

I was also part of a metal-detecting club, and I never had any problems there either

I always figure NV is BLM so just figure it bring so.

By chance is it still around?
Unfortunately, no—they're now focused on searching for gold nuggets, but not as a club anymore. You can talk to my friend Oldmxrat to see if he's okay with you joining us one day to go metal detecting; I, for one, have no problem with it, but the spots we have, we found them together.

Awesome finds love the bottles, they are slightly older than the ones I find in Colorado. Great spot, you are definitely not done there!!!
That's right, I think we've only explored about 20% of it, so it still has a lot to offer us.

The empty cartridge cases are telltale here in Roswell, NM. The oldest park is just full of them, due to an old crack house still sitting a hundred feet to the south. And... Just two weeks ago, we had a double homicide with absolutely no leads. Things like this are so frequent, the newspaper all but ignores them.

Awesome, how do I get ahold of him?
