Drove down to one of my favorite ghost towns to see what the monsoons washed out over the last few weeks.
This place is incredibly hard to hunt with the amount of nails and other trash, but there are still finds hiding in there!

Some kind of lid for a liquor bottle?

This polychrome native American pottery sherd was a surprise!

There's definitely more stuff there to find, so I'll be going back for sure.

You post some nice recoveries!! Nice locking Indian cent

Nice IHP congrats
The dry climate sure is a relic saver.

Query: If you shake those live rounds can you hear the black powder inside them still?

Great finds!!!

cool stuff. When did the town cease to be occupied?

Great finds - really like the Indian Cent !

Thanks Pepper! The black powder has taken on moisture over time and congealed. I've pulled the slug on a couple of these before and it's all you can do to light the powder with a match.

Thanks!
It was washed away by a flash flood in 1898. There were a couple of houses on the edge of town that survived and only a handful of people stayed over the next several years before it was completely abandoned.

Excellent. What a special & fun site.

Have you ever detected further down the wash?

Looks like you're back down south. Is that the same place we hunted?

Yes. The area where we parked got washed away. The wash overflowed right about where I found the Barber half and made a big mess of the place. Big rocks washed into the area.
