I was 35 miles east of Carlsbad, New Mexico at 1:00 pm yesterday and the warm temperatures sure felt nice. This morning I'm in Raton, New Mexico and watching the weather and they're showing snow flurries coming down on Albuquerque right now. I did see a pair of eagles tending to their nest, so that is an indication that the seasons are moving towards a change.

Is that some kind of a mine you are at?
They're sinking a shaft at a place called the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant or more commonly known as the WIPP Site.

Seasons are definitely close to changing. The last two days I’ve seen many flocks containing hundreds of geese moving north.

Dang you have a cool job !
Thanks Timbermaster. At my age now I look back and wonder at times how I ended up doing what I do. In a way it all began back when I stepped out onto the west bound shoulder of Interstate 80 with my thumb out in Iowa back in 1975. Little did I see it then, but I was about to put millions of more miles behind me from that very day. Now days I am not as eager to leave home, but I'm still in a place I must go from time to time.

Around home one of the early seasons coming change is recognized by the Northern Flickers territorial call, which has begun here about a week ago now. Still cold and snow moved in yesterday, so there's gonna be no singing today.
