This is the most baffling thing I've see posted?? Was the smaller ball item inside? Why was it cut in half?

Interesting no doubt.

Is the smaller ball hard like a marble? Maybe its a concreation?

It doesn't appear to but cut in half, looks to be fractured in half? I gotta say that sure looks like an egg and yolk. The oblongness (that can't be a word) of it resembles an egg, doesn't it?

Here is a pic from another tresnet site.the little rock fits inside the bigger ones.the little rock has a different rougher texture. Almost looks like a geode. There are no cut marks.I believe it split somehow.

Well how ever it got broken in two, I'm just wondering why someone would break it in half??

I have seen and found very similar objects in fields that used to have horses and other large domestic animals grazing there. They actually are a calcium build up that happens in the gut of the horse or cow...I even work at a zoo and have seen similar round calcuim balls come out of Zebras some almost as large as soft balls but usually tennis ball sized. They are layer after layer of calcium and other minerals this could explain the ball in the center could have been a diet change that made the smaller ball a bit different then the layers that built up around it before it was crapped out.

Sounds pretty legit to me

Snakeman is no doubt correct. Also keep in mind that there are no known geological formations in Illinois that contain dino eggs........

next time i get kidney stones ill think about those poor zebras

Sounds good!I'm definitely not a rock guy.the center of the globe seems to be made of a material I guess that seems to me would have taken way longer to form than the time frame allowed by domesticated animals.that and I didn't see any layering all consistent coloring.thanx for your input.
