Hi, :hello:

Another pleasant day at an old beach :icon_sunny:

Hunted dry sand at high tide.

Found King George VI 1945 half penny, a 1959 "Roosie" , a small ANKH medallion, and the usual clads.

Half Penny was deep ..about 8".

Here's a bit of info about the Half Penny for those who may be interested:

These coins were made in the hundreds of millions and circulated all around the word.
They were all demonetized and replaced in the 1970’s with a decimal system of value but in 1984 was stopped all together.

All UK coinage carries (and has for centuries) the Latin inscription D.G. REG (or REX, when the monarch is a king), F.D., followed by the date. This stands for "Dei Gratia" ("by the Grace of God, Queen"), "Fidei Defensor" ("Defender of the Faith"), and the date.

Coins minted during the governing of India have a bit more text: "D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D:IND:IMP," which stands for the Latin "Dei Gratis Britanniae omnis Rex, Fidei Defensor, Indiae Imperator," which translates "By the Grace of God, King of all Britain, Defender of the Faith, Emperor of India."
This phrasing was dropped in 1947 when India was given independence.
This inscription was not consistent throughout reigns; the penny of 1750 states only "GEORGIUS II REX."

The value is less than a US Dollar in circulated grades. They are collected in Mint State condition for a few dollars each.

And here's a link to info about ANKH crosses :

Here's some pics.

Thanks for looking

As always , you do well. Nice finds.

Nice finds Lorraine and as usual, a great job of
making them presentable. Good info on the
1/2 penny..thanks Gold Nuggets :hello:

Nothing like a little education alone with the find. Always interesting to know the history behind some of our finds.

Thanks, GN

I was undecided on whether or not to clean that coin :dontknow: ... but it is of little value, and I wanted to see the ship clearer so I opted to clean it...kinda wish I didn't.

The metallic content of the coin is bronze , and I think the electrolysis ruined the obverse a bit. :'(
