I spent all afternoon searching my own property and found only three Lincoln pennies and a clad dime. After we bought this place in the country I learned that the previous owner's family had held large parties here over a period of many years. The parties included live music. I know there has to be some good stuff here. The question is where. Using the go-where-the-shade-is theory, I managed to locate the spot where they kept the drink coolers. I also gather they didn't have a trash can there. I've been detecting since the 1970's and I've never seen so many pull tabs and screw caps in one area. Imagine a dream day where every swing of the coil results in multiple responses and you dig coin after coin from the same hole. This was the nightmare version of that dream. LOL! I'm tempted to forget notching and set the discrimination up high enough to eliminate most of the trash but that would mean missing nickles and most jewelry. Oh well, patience will pay off.

Cherry pick first, get all the easy stuff then go back and dig all the other signals.

I know what that is like but patience will pay off and i'm sure you will be getting the good stuff in no time, keep at it........:)

Deep on keeping on, the reward is there.

Firstly guessing where a good place is, is never as good as covering the whole area. Grid it, would be my suggestion, & yes clear it all.
