Round Rock, Texas. I wasn’t sure with it being so rough but I had to ask. In this immediate area are what may be burial mounds in the flood plain of a creek bed. Not far, a terraces rise approximately 30 to 50 feet above the floodplain where I found 2 arrow heads, an abundance of flint shards and burned rock middens.

sorry i think its just a rock, what brought your attention too it.

Looks like a natural stone to me. What did you think it might be?

Guys I only asked to see if you had ever seen a crude hammer like tool made in this fashion. I saw marks where it may have struck objects at the head of the hammer. Thanks so much for your help.

This is straight from Mother Nature. I collect in many areas. I find rocks like this all the time. The problem when looking for artifacts to the untrained eye anything can look like an artifact. Just because it fits in the hand doesn't mean that a hand made it.

No they never made them in that shape. They didnt have anything to work with but natural rocks. In order for them to make a artifact they usually broke a rock in pieces and then modified it to their liking.
