The symbolism points to Scotland with the crown and thistle.

Its about 4 to 5 inches long and about an inch wide. I thought it might be like a odd fellas Metal. Its defiantly old. Dug it at Nine inches!

The crown on this relic is post 1952. The clip on the back makes me think 'cap badge'. Not necessarily military but maybe some other kind of uniformed public servant.
