Not to blow my own WHISTLE but Mrs "V" met the Barber Sisters and.........

the 2 buffalo's ran Mr. Roosevelt in the ground......

Got done with some of THE HONEY DOOOO THINGS...,Sanding and painting , around 1:15pm
Since Watercolor and Skinny Puppy were up north. Gas prices and long drives don't pay off with money tight so...

I went out to a house that I got permission to do the other day.As I drove by it the other day ( since it's going to be demo'ed) while talking to to Skinny Puppy or WaterColor ( can't remember which one) I was saying that it doesn't look like much would be there. The house looks like the 60's style. I like 50's or older..
I gave it a shot before I would start ringing door bell for more houses to do.
Well about 10 minutes into the hunt I pulled a 1902 Barber Dime. This was a freak thing....Next a 1952D dime
20 minutes later a 1904 V Nickel then 15 minutes later a 1911 Barber Dime.. Then about 30 minutes later I left.

About a half hour later I met up with Skinny Puppy.. Decided to go do another house that was ok to do. Nothing there.
We decided to go back to where I was just at.
Skinny Puppy would agree. It didn't look it would produce any good finds.
Pat found a silver dime ( I think a 1957 )
About 45 minute there I found the 2 Buffalo's about 4 feet apart at 7.5 inches.. Cool..............
I left Pat there hope, he found some more good stuff with that new Minelab. ( WHITES PREVAIL ) LOL

Pictures are of the none cleaned find
I'll clean them later tonight.....

Jezzzwhat a WHISTLE BLOWER ;D ;D ;D ;D

You know, in many cases, newer houses are built on older house sites. This is what we've found frequently when house site hunting. That may have been the case here. I haven't done much hunting of this type of site--I prefer the ones in cornfields and wooded areas, but I would imagine that even if the dirt was pushed around there's still something left. One time I hunted the site of a new church built over top of an old one-room schoolhouse. Found a pocket watch, wheats, some jewelry, and a silver quarter. So it can be done.

Nice work on these finds! Do a little research on your area--housesite-wise--and you may be able to look past those ugly 1960's houses and see what lies beneath.

The towns around here in the northwest side of Chicago date back to the late 1880's House's after house's from the 1890's
through the 1950's . Tear down after tear down. All one has to do is talk to owners when they are outside or I just keep ringing door bells. I'm not shy about doing that...
I agree.. it may have had an older home on the property before.

Thanks lowbatts
That's not a problem there really wasn't much area to cover... With it being such a small area I'm happy with what I got..
about 10 days from now it will be fenced off and demo'ed
