Not "Today's Finds" More like, "Few Finds Since Feb '12" ! --I'm BACK!

Well, I am BACK! It's the old Bev with Greenie ID! Hide to hide out for a little while, but I've been watching all the great finds and enjoying your stories! I've really missed posting and sharing!
So here is just a few things I've found and can't wait to share more!

The bullets are interesting, the 1882 Indian Head was fun to find and I found 2 others that I misplaced at the moment- one is a broadstruck, heavier than normal.

One of the buttons is really peculiar- It's a crest, maybe a "7" in the center of it, two figures facing outward holding something, no marks and I'm really curious about it- any help?

I think you all will like checking out what I think is a really REALLY old hammer of a pistol, the other piece was in the same hole but I dont know if they are related!

Whew! It's been too long! :hello:

Hope work doesnt get in the way today so I can fool around a little more! Heading to Washington DC tomorrow for a few days to visit the Smithsonian!

Good show. You should try to bring up the images on those "buttons". Try tooth paste and a soft toothbrush. I will catch it on that one from the purists! The copper covered bullet is modern.hand print-2_edited-3.webp

I'm going to gently work on it and see what I can find for marks, etc. Unless someone has seen one or if I can find markins, I find it almost impossible to ID buttons. I looked up "coat of arms" and "crest" but it's a tough thing...maybe if someone can maybe give me what they call the figures on the side, maybe what they're holding, I could narrow it down to country of origin....Not easy!

welcome back,,cools finds happy hunting

Thanks! My goal is to make banner at least once in 2012!

Well your on your way....

Well your on your way....

I'm trying- I've hit a bit of a dry patch but hopefully I'll find something really interesting soon!

Hi Bev! You are a rather ambitious one. I am currently just hoping to find some thing worth posting. Its very rough to find a place to hunt out here even with most fields planted and dry ground blahs. CARM
