After obtaining permission from the homeowner I hunted an old home site along the Emigration Trail in Utah. In the veg garden I got a good signal. Two inches down I saw what I thought was a large cent.
But on closer examination I discovered I had a KGIII 1807 half penny in my hand!!! It's my second oldest coin to date and the most out of place coin I have found so far.
How did this get here?? The only explanation I can come up with is that a British convert to Mormonism must have brought it with them at some point. Man, if this coin could talk...
