Nothing

coinman66 · Nov 17, 2007

Went out with my detecting buddy today. We went to a cornfield where we had previously dug some old coins. Shield nickels, large cents, two cent piece, half dime. Today we got nothing, notta, zilch, zero. Well i did dig a 1985 dime 3 inches deep. Better luck next year. HH
PS The weather at least was beautiful!

Modern dime in an old field. I bet you were expecting an oldie. I've had that happen. Definitely a letdown. Better luck next time out. How big is the cornfield? I would still hit it some more if it were big enough. There's bound to be more oldies there. Just the other day I got a mid 70's copper signal on the DFX near where I found the other oldies at a colonial site. Out pops a 1975 lincoln cent $:-\$

Don't worry today's finds weren't much better for me
a stainless steel spoon, a clad dime and a crusty wheat

but I still got out.

Yeah. We had the same kind of day yesterday.
But you are right, "a bad day detectin is better than
a good day at work".

You got out, enjoyed the weather, did your favorite thing, [next to favorite maybe] and got some excercise. That is a good day Coinman. Best luck on the next hunt.
