Novice hobby prospector in Blythewood, SC

Hello!

I am stationed at Fort Jackson, SC and I am an off-and-on Columbia, SC native (military family on both sides but parents are SC natives). I am waiting until fall/winter to start up again panning for fun. I did not know gold could be found near Blythewood/Ridgeway, SC until I recently passed the old mine.

I am always looking for a buddy to show me the ropes on panning and in return I have extensive experience digging holes (Infantry joke).
