Nice job! That buckle could be the buckle to a neck stock...a throat protector worn by soldiers to protect against being stabbed. I have one that looks just like it that was authenticated by experts...hence my thoughts on that.

Again...well done!

your,"Buckle",is actually a tighner for a belt.Used on belts with two piece type buckles

Nice set of finds! Love the buttons.

Nice. Part of my family served in the green mountain rangers. Is this the kind of button their coats had?

Sorry for the late reply. I have not researched this button to be able to tell you. Here is a site that lists the mustar of the militia in the war of 1812. http://www.hopefarm.com/nymilrol.htm Art

Very nice historic finds. Is that a cufflink in the upper right of the total finds pic? WTG, Quindy.

I thought maybe it was a lead game piece? :icon_scratch:

Fantastic NY button Arty. What a beauty! :occasion14:

Yes.

Thanks all, the button was the first find of the day. I walked into the field and checked the ground in front of me so I could ground balance and I got a solid signal, wow, that should happen everytime... Arty

Thanks kuger, makes sense....

Awesome looking button Art!

Thanks Vol1266-X, I'm not sure about the cufflink , I have viewed others on T-net and that has been the consensus. I thought it was part of a pushpin. Rust at the large end.
