first time out in two weeks! Found the standard stuff....a couple of mercs (been without a merc for about three weeks :-[), a Barber, and a strange wheatie. The mercs were 1916 (of course, P mint), 1929 S (great shape). The Barber is a 1916 P (I've found about 6 of these this year). The wheat is a 45 and is the diameter and thickness of a dime? Also looks like someone has taken a small punch to the face of the coins? Anyhow. It was nice to get out and dig some silver!

Nice, too bad the 16 wasn't a D. The 29 D is cool.

Congrats on the silver. Strange penny. Looks almost like somebody hammered down the edges. Chalk that one up as your first hammered coin. ;D Now go out and find 42,943 more and you'll catch up with Crusader. He gets hammered all the time. ;D

People used to file down pennies to use as dimes in vending machines. I found three such wheaties in one hole one time... my guess is the guilty party was concealing evidence!

Nice Finds. Love that old Barber Silver.

That is some good looking silver, A good hunt for sure.

Most of wish 2 Mercs and a Barber were standard.Congrats.

Haven't found a merc in a few weeks. Whaaa. You poor baby! ;) :) :D
