image.jpg some type of clip? The ends don't appear to be broken and it reads "LOWE BROS" at the top of the clip. Thanks for any input image.jpg

Yep, definitely a garter clip .... Don't ask me how I know, other than jrwill56 previously identifying it!

Thanks for the posts, seems a bit massive for a garter clip in length and weight? But with nothing else found I'll leave it at that.

I have no idea either, but there are two things about it that might identify it: The wire portion is of the same design as the kind of older devices that would hold/store a rake, mop, shovel handle betweeen the springs, only this is a little smaller. The clip portion could have slid onto anything, but with the cumbersome wire gimmick, maybe it slide onto cage wire or over a bucket? dunno

There was a Lowe Brothers paint company, so perhaps a brush holder that clipped to the can of paint?
