Like most detectorists, I’ve found a multitude of keys. This particular key is a first for me. Anyone know what it might have been used for? (Besides opening a lock :laughing7:)
It has no writing on either side. Thanks for looking.

I'm not sure......When I looked at the pic...I think old post office box, locker type key, inner safe key(like a door inside on older combination safe, for some reason. I've seen these type keys before and can't quite remember what they were for.

It's a lever lock key, with non-symmetrical biting so that could mean is was for one-way passage (or opening).
Locks that required entry from both directions would often have symmetrical keying so that the same key would work the lock from either direction (of insertion).

These are sometimes called mortise keys, but I've always heard them as lever lock.
