Not sure what this lead disc was. It has a rim imprint on the back as we'll as some marks where it looks like something was attached at on time. This was found at a civil war era house. Please give your opinions on what this could be. I also found this 1919 d wheatie and I finally gave up digging something big that I just got to before dark. Something cast iron about 2 feet deep and still some to go. Hopefully when I return tomorrow ill be able to post a nice relic after all my hard work digging whatever it is, but maybe junk we shall see tomorrow.

Perhaps the lead fill out of a rosette.

Possibly the lead back from an Eagle breast plate?

Imma gonna say the lead backing from an Eagle Breast Plate.........................HH

Unless LaGold has monster paws, judging by the disc in relation to the fingers, this disc appears to be less than two inches wide. The lead fill from a breast plate would be 2 1/2 inches wide, unless the rim was broken off. This shows a pretty well defined rim.

It's only a bout two inches and the wheatie was used as a size reference

Thanks ..That would rule out a breast plate then.
