There are a lot of utilized flakes to be found, and they come in a bunch of sizes and shapes. I keep them all as I find them.
 
That stemmed like area was more than likely purposely fashioned to fit into a haft.
They look like hafted scraping or cutting tools to me.
These are categorized as hafted end scrapers.

You ever try to open a clam or mussel shell with your fingers? I would of used a flat tool if it was me.
 
That's a good observation.. I don't know if it's true everywhere but with the huge amount of opened oyster and clam shells here that show little if any damage it seems like they used hot water or fire to pop them open here anyway.
 
On the half shell maybe with a little black drink to chase it down :happysmiley:
