Lowes has the Coast Headlight, 1 Watt total light, very bright on sale here for $24. Wal-Mart sells several varieties as well. Whatever you do buy a 1 Watt light because the others just aren't bright enough!

The Coast I have came with a nice little nylon pouch too and is very lighweight. Baldingboy has a nice Craftsman light but he looks like a miner everytime he wears it, it is BIG!!!!

Remember one of the prizes is a decent little light I traded for some computer work for a guy that works at the local WM. So you might get lucky and win it.

I'm bringing the Deleon and the EX II. I have a Discovery 1100 that belongs to my daughter but I'm leaving it here.

ME - I just traded for a DeLeon,so would like for you to give me a little input at the hunt.I haven't even put it together yet.I guess I'll bring the M6 and the CZ5 and probably the Vaquero and silver and the F2,which gunsmoke will probably start with.

Stick with me, ME! We'll get a bunch of detecting time in. Nana don't care to eat crayfish, alligator, snake or deer meat, so just a couple of bites of that strawberry cheescake, and I'm ready to go! Got my nightlight ready too! AND...I NEVER leave a site without at least ONE keeper.

RickyP, I found one at WallyWorld that was about $6 and is about the total size of a .50 piece. It clips to the bill of the cap. It also tilts. It only has one led bulb but is bright. Uses a flat button battery.

I'm bringing the DeLeon w/2 extra coils (sniper 5.75 and 3X18), a Tejon with 1 extra coil (10X 12 widescan), and a Fisher 1236X2 rigged as a hip mount.

The test is not a written test, it's a oral quiz. So be prepared...a question may be hollered out before you take the 1st bite of food or the first step towards the hunting grounds.

I cant talk with food in my mouth either so the trick is to keep eating stay under the radar til I get food there is plenty of ground to hunt! I am waiting everyday for the count down then woopee we get to see everyonr with or with out lights!

And I don't know for sure what I would hve in my hat I just know I 'd be thirsty! So could be anything!

i will bring detector pro headhunter pirate, my backup machine is a discovery 1100. the pirate is a water machine and im not sure i like the way the water WEIGHTED coil feels swingin on land. she is great on a rainstorm though and u can keep hunting even if wet. SAY WHILE IM AT IT I HOPE YALL GUNNA GARONTEEEEE A NICE DRY WEEKEND FOR THE HUNT. SOMETHIN SUSPICIOUS HERE THAT BAYOU DONT FILL UP BY MAGIC.so i dont think the pirate esp for any competition hunt.i bought it for getting into water hunting.prob not goin to bring the discovery out at all.just for backup.u remember backup detector.its the one u never need.UNLESS U DONT BRING IT !!!!.so this is leading to a conclusion that i think i need a new machine.im just coming back to detecting after 20 years.i switched exclusively to coin roll hunting back about 1988.so im prob not going to be much competition anyway.if i order it soon i should be able to familiarize myself with it enuf to use by lbh time. or mebbe i was using a fisher 1225x back in the 80s.i see its still avilable as a cheapie point and shoot machine.its what i understand best.anyone think its still good enuf or 20 years has really changed machines and i be more satisfied w high end.your advice appreciated.

I will be using my MXT. I was going to bring the IDX Pro for back up but with so many detectors to use there, I will leave it at home.
