Minelab X-Terra 50
Today, the weather is so nice warm and late full sunny. After work, I drove straight to my home and changed my clothes, then took my X-Terra 50 out to my field - ten acres. About an hour later, the detector told me 40 and 4 inches below on the display. It was so real nice beep sound. I dig the hole and not see anything, then I put the coil on same spot, beep, then I looked real close, oh boy, the dime is between thick many five-six inches roots! I looked at the dime, WOW, I got the oldest coin ever in my life. Just image, that, Booth shot President Lincoln, after 11 years later, the coin stamped 1876! My field is about two miles away to the Black Jack Battlefield. I will go out to my field again tomorrow.

Can you tell me what condition? CC stand for? How much it worth?

Richard

Hey Richard!
Congrats; nice coin!

CC stands for Carson City.
Your coin is one of 8 million.
I'm no expert but even at the low grade of G4 it is worth $18. VF20 is $35!
Not bad at all!

Don't clean it; just put it in a coin holder.

Congratulations on your Seated Dime! It's always exciting to find a Seated Liberty coin! I got an 1853 Half Dime today.

Look very closely at the lettering in "OF AMERICA" If they are doubled, then the value is about 2x the normal one. The 1876 CC dime I dug was the double die variety... It isnt listed in the red book, and I would have never known if I hadnt checked one of the Krause books (North American Coin Prices).

There are also two or three reverse variations that are listed in the cherry pickers guide vol2.
