So today was it for me, i finally hit the big one.
I JUST started to get some spending money for CRHing again, im only 17 mind you :P So i started the day with $190, i was just gonna do dimes and the occasional halves that show... So i start my route, go to a huntington, and get out $190 in dimes, brinks clear wrapped, a few rolls in a see one roll with two silvers, i pop them out and sure enough a 63' and 64' rosies! The 64' is in top shape aswell. So i duump those and then decide to go back to huntington for one more round of dimes, man were these things bad... CWR and they looked dug, about half were... i barely picked through them and was disgusted by the shape of these coins, but i did get a 1 franc, and a barbados dime, and unfortunately two nickel 1968 dimes.
So i head off and see a PNC and i have an account there so i drop off the dimes, and i see some dollar coins like SBAs there... i ask for them (2) and then she said the other one was a half, do i want that too? Of course i said sure. She said if you want more we have a "ton" in the back. I was like "eh, its probably a drop" but i said go ahead and ill buy them all. She comes back with a puny $100 worth, and she also has a bag full of Eisenhowers, 24 in there, so i buy it all and head off. no silver proofs with the eisenhowers though, but i did manage to get $30 for the 24 at a pawn shop
Know for the halves score. I open up the first 5 and get nothing, seen one with an "X" so i figured a dump. I did notice one key thing though, the first roll i had solid 1974's, then some 1972's and 1973's so i was onto something, possibly a collection. Then i realize it when I get to the 6th roll and get these:
I was ecstatic to see a 90%er and a 40% come out of this roll and it got me hopefully for the rest of the rolls. Literally the next roll i open i see these:
16 40%ers, some BU shape! Awesome score i thought, and figured that was it, but then i opened the LAST roll:
SOLID SILVER! It sent absoulute chills through my body, it was incredible to see and everything! I finally hit my dream score, id say for $100 i did a darn good job
