Found this one 20 years ago. Thought it made an artistic expession. Cross
section is plano and quite thick. I need help on kind of flint and could it be
an agate basin?

That is beautiful.
I honestly think that some of these things were made as functional art. There is no way that some of the more stunning artifacts could be coincidence. Like transparent points and whatnot.

Not an Agate, but material is either coshocton, or upper mercer. Nice blade either way!

It looks much newer than agate basin, it's not as refined. I would guess a woodland period knife blade, but a beautiful one at that!

I'd say Upper Mercer flint.Its a wonderful knife.I also admire that little point,what a cool tip.

cross section is plano and is not leaf shaped what do you think?
The other is found Fremont In. Stuben co. Black and gray it is a favorite.

Its hard to tell the age of knives. In my opinion it's probably not paleo. If it were I'd expect it to be better knapped, could be a paleo preform though.--- If I had to guess I'd say Archaic, but I base that on the fact that many archaic pieces I 've found have been Upper Mercer. --- The photo is my youngest and wildest, a budding artifact hound if I've ever seen one., Unitas
