That is beautiful.
I honestly think that some of these things were made as functional art. There is no way that some of the more stunning artifacts could be coincidence. Like transparent points and whatnot.

It looks much newer than agate basin, it's not as refined. I would guess a woodland period knife blade, but a beautiful one at that!

Thanks unitas, Upper Mercer I feel that its older than Woodland it's
cross section is plano and is not leaf shaped what do you think?
The other is found Fremont In. Stuben co. Black and gray it is a favorite.

Is the photo you or yours?
Its hard to tell the age of knives. In my opinion it's probably not paleo. If it were I'd expect it to be better knapped, could be a paleo preform though.--- If I had to guess I'd say Archaic, but I base that on the fact that many archaic pieces I 've found have been Upper Mercer. --- The photo is my youngest and wildest, a budding artifact hound if I've ever seen one., Unitas
